This latest model of HP’s Spectre x360 is a 2-in-1 laptop that is as thin and as light as just 1. 3 kilograms to be carried around conveniently. What’s more, we have a pretty OLED display efficiency that always delivers sharp and crisp colors and deep black density.
On taking my laptop around so much, I am sure that the best for me is one I can easily move with, relatives and friends inclusive. Though the iPhone 13 mini is excellent on the light weights for me, I still prefer a laptop for heavier tasks such as writing, editing, watching TV, manipulating with photos, and reading eBooks. Being heave for travelling I gave up my old laptop and bought the HP Spectre x36 to interest me if premium 2-in-1 model was a good choice.
HP Spectre x360 14-A fancy small laptop that goes wherever you go.
On the first time I met the special HP Spectre x360, I was astonished to know that then notebooks with a small size but outstanding work are still around. Yet, it takes one kilogram only and still serves as a full laptop. My Spectre x360 13 has been with me through everything in the past year – work, studio visits, parties, and several briefings. Its small body size and low amount of weight enable me to take it with my basics to a key event like the forthcoming Mobile World Congress in Barcelona for example.
A picture we think is eleven-star good at capturing the greatness of Spectre x360 until we experience it at its hands. And that’s when you can really enjoy its beauty, how thin and small it is compared to iPhones of the past. The higher end feel is attending this model, with a chassis of CNC-machined aluminum and edges with sharp corners, helps Spectre draw a line between others outstanding convertible notebooks.
So, my review unit showed up in this classy State Blue color, and I got to say, it’s got that timeless vibe that people who dig classic designs will love. Opening this laptop is like, whoa! It’s like the feeling you get from snappy, modern smartphones – quick and seamless. No matter you open it, look at the screen, directly typing on the keyboard or just grab it, the whole process feels very very smooth. Definitely designed for people who spend their days transitioning from one meeting to the next, this laptop is smaller and thinner than almost every other model out there, and HP had to make some very obvious compromises to achieve that effect.
Pros:
- Appealing metal design
- Comfortable keyboard and touchpad
- Quality speakers
- Comes with a pen
- Outstanding webcam
- Gorgeous OLED display
Cons:
- Limited ports
- Pricey
Amazingly crafted, slim, and lightweight.

Now, when it comes to ports, the Spectre x360 keeps it simple. Two USB-C Thunderbolt 4 ports on the right, with one sneaking into the back corner. Toss in a 3.5mm audio jack and a USB-A port. HP throws in a USB-C adapter in the box, and props to them – no extra charge, unlike Apple. But seriously, who wants to lug around an extra adapter?
The Spectre x360 is officially my new favorite 2-in-1 laptop, but it’s not replacing my tablet vibes. Sure, it’s meant to be versatile, but using it as a tablet? Not the best move, my friend. It’s got that fancy 360-degree hinge thing, letting the screen fold back into tablet mode. Hinges are solid, and the screen is all about that stylus life (comes with HP’s MPP2.0 pen that magnetically sticks to the side). But truth be told, it’s a bit hefty for tablet-style chilling. I’m sticking to my belief that the iPad Air is the ultimate tablet, no doubt. Still, if my iPad’s on vacation, I might just roll with the Spectre x360 for some note-taking action.
Let me tell you, the Spectre x360 is a game-changer, and the real star of the show is that stunning 14-inch OLED display. Seriously, when you flip open the laptop and that screen lights up, it’s like entering a whole new world. I spend a ton of time on my notebook, and this display just takes the experience to a whole new level.
Movies, content, games – everything looks so much more alive with that touch-enabled OLED panel rocking a crisp 2.8K resolution and a 16:10 aspect ratio. The contrast is on point, with deep blacks and bright whites. Even when I’m reading articles on indianexpress.com, the text is crystal clear, and games and movies? They’re on a whole other level.
The screen is stunning.

Now, about the sound, it’s not blasting as loud as a HomePod mini, but it’s perfect for my personal space or playing tunes in a cozy room. The keyboard is a dream, with keys that feel just right – spaced well, great travel, and that satisfying click. Even though it’s a compact laptop, they’ve managed to keep the layout spacious. And the touchpad? Roomy, smooth, and responsive. Plenty of room for all those cool multi-touch gestures Windows offers. Pretty impressive for a 14-inch Windows laptop!
On a regular day, my computer is my go-to device, beating out my iPad and iPhone. The Spectre x360’s lightweight design and smaller size just give me more reasons to love it. It’s not just for the usual stuff like emails and LinkedIn updates – it’s my go-to for things like ChatGPT, Adobe Firefly, and Sora’s AI-powered video magic. And let’s talk about performance – that Core Ultra 7 155H chip inside is a beast. It handles everything from everyday tasks to more demanding stuff like modern AI workloads.
The Spectre x360 might not be the top choice for professional photographers or videographers, but for someone like me, juggling a mix of basic and professional tasks such as web browsing, editing, writing, and light Photoshop work, it’s more than capable of handling the challenge.
Outstanding keyboard and touchpad.

A charismatic battery life was a highlight of the Spectre. It’s that fact that it’s been eons since I’ve witnessed a Windows laptop last 10 hours on a single charge. What’s interesting to note here is that it hosts an OLED display. It means that I can pack Spectre x360 in my laptop bag and don’t worry about charging it while working on a plane, which has no outlets.
The next item we will discuss is the webcam. With many of our meetings online nowadays, having a proper webcam for a laptop is an important key point. Spectre x360 from HP is a real eye-opener when it comes to superb speakers. It has a 9MP webcam that can take a 4K video up to. The image quality is just so good, it is so much better than the other laptops cameras I’ve seen so far.
The brightening of my face and the colors are vibrant. With AI-assisted Windows Studio Effects, the automatic framing also helps me in keeping my face in focus as well as blurring the background. The way front-facing cameras on smartphones usually work is what they look for.

Eventually, this HP Spectre is really a trending 2-in-one laptop. It is the ultimate combination of awesome performance, a gorgeous OLED display, extensive battery life, the best keyboard in the business, and elegant looks with excellent craftsmanship. The laptop is ideal for people who are constantly in motion taking it with whether they want to use it or not for work, projects or studies. Yes, it’s expensive, but considering its performance, it’s one of the most high-end premium Windows 2-in-1 laptops available.
