Unforgettable Moments and Triumphs at the 30th Annual SAG Awards
At the 30th SAG Awards on Saturday, Oppenheimer received a prestigious honor. Cillian Murphy may have become an Oscar contender for his performance, possibly beating Paul Giamatti in the Leading Male Actor category.
Lily Gladstone is now a strong favorite for the Best Actress Oscar, winning Female Actor Leading Role for Killers of the Flower Moon in Los Angeles. For the first time, this ceremony was streamed live on Netflix. Robert Downey Jr caused a little surprise by winning Male Actor in a Supporting Role for Oppenheimer.
The first film award of the evening wasn’t a shocker, as Devine Joy Randolph continued her winning streak with a Supporting win for The Holdovers. On the television front, HBO’s Succession claimed the top prize for Ensemble in a Drama Series, a win that came as no surprise.
Elizabeth Debicki surprised everyone by winning for playing Princess Diana in The Crown, beating Succession star Sarah Snook and others. Earlier, Pedro Pascal pulled off a bit of a surprise by winning Male Actor in a Drama Series for HBO’s The Last of Us over Kieran Culkin and other Succession stars.
The Bear and Beef, both excelling at award shows, secured additional wins tonight. The FX series won Ensemble in a Comedy Series, and stars Jeremy Allen White and Ayo Edebiri got Male Actor and Female Actor in a Comedy. Ali Wong and Steven Yeun added to Netflix’s Beef’s success by winning Female Actor in a TV Movie or Limited Series.
The Stunt Ensemble prizes were given out before the main show, with Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 1 and The Last of Us getting the respective film and TV awards.
The SAG Awards proved to be a good competition for the films – the most popular ones won three statues each and these films were Oppenheimer and The Bear. Two games that stood out were beef and The Last of Us, securing two awards each

Spanning 15 categories across both movies and TV, including stunt performers, the SAG Awards featured numerous A-list nominees and presenters despite having no host. Perhaps receiving this award is encouraging because you know that it is on its way to be presented to you. You all know what I mean, she said while accepting. Streisand proceeded to reminisce about her early roles and how Marlon Brando, her first crush, along with other figures from the world of make-believe, shaped her. She expressed her aversion to reality but her strong desire to be part of the film industry. Somehow, in some manner, it all materialized.
